Suomen Cupin 2.kierros pelattiin Juuassa 19.9.2010. Jalkeille ei kaikesta yrittämisestä huolimatta saatu kuin kaksi kentällistä ja se väistämättä näkyi turnauksen edetessä aina kolmen ottelun verran. Muutama tärkeä pelimies oli sivussa flunssan ja osa omien menojen takia.
FBI – SB Raatti 3-3
Ensimmäiseen otteluun ei paljon latausta tarvinnut hakea, kun vastaan asettui viime vuodelta tuttu FBI Iisalmesta, joka silloin kaadettiin maalein 6-2. Ottelu olikin tasaista tahkoamista ja molempien maalivahdit pitivät joukkueitaan pystyssä. Vastustaja onnistui muutamaan otteeseen todella näyttävillä poikittaissyötöillä sahaamaan Raatin puolustusta, mutta onneksi laukaisutarkkuus tässä vaiheessa kautta ei ollut aivan parasta FBI:ta. Lopulta pisteet jaettiin maalein 3-3 maalien syntyessä vuoron perään molempiin päihin. Lopussa molemmilla oli vielä loistavat paikat jopa ratkaista ottelu nimiinsä, mutta tällä kertaa tyydyttiin pistejakoon. Ottelun parhaana Raatista palkittiin loistavan ottelun maalilla pelannut Markus Aho.
SB Raatti – Coach Team 1 – 8
Toinen ottelu tiedettiin ennalta vaikeaksi ja kaveri vaaralliseksi maalintekijäksi, joten otteluun lähdettiin selkeästi matalalla karvauksella ja säästelemään paukkuja illan viimeiseen otteluun. Ottelu alkoikin sitten pahimmalla mahdollisella tavalla. Coach Teamin vaaralliset hyökkäykset päätyivät kerta toisensa perään armotta Raatin maaliin. Oman pään luokaton merkkauspelaaminen ja huonot peitot koituivat kohtaloksi. Tylyt 6-1 lukemat jo ensimmäisen erän jälkeen. Toinen erä tahkottiin sitten maaleitta ja kolmas oli vain ajan peluuta kellosta pois. Ottelun lopussa päästiin kuitenkin koettamaan ylivoimapelaamista, mutta mallikkaan pyörityksen jälkeen ei kavennusta saatu kuitenkaan tehtyä. Kaverin onnistuessa erässä pariin otteeseen ja loppulukemat vastustajalle 8-1 ansaitusti.
LeBa-96 II – SB Raatti 7 – 2
Illan viimeinen ottelu tarjosi draamaa koko rahan edestä, sillä molemmat joukkueet tiesivät, että suurella todennäköisyydellä voitto riittää jatkopaikkaan FBI:n ja Leban pelatessa edellisessä ottelussa tasan, vaikka Coach Teamilla ja FBI:lla olikin ottelu pelaamatta. Kotiyleisö ja kotihalli olivat kuitenkin iso apu Coach Teamille, joten ottelulla olikin panosta enemmän kuin arvata saattoi.
Ottelu olikin tasaista vääntämistä LeBan kuitenkin viedessä ensimmäisen ja toisen erän laukaukset nimiinsä. Maalit jaettiin kuitenkin tasan 1-1, vaikka paikkoja olisi molemmilla ollut tehdä useampikin häkki.
Kolmanteen erään lähdettäessä jalka alkoi painaa jo molemmilla, mutta siitä huolimatta erän painopiste saatiin siirrettyä LeBan päätyyn ja laukauksia saatiin tasaiseen tahtiin. Vastustaja onnistui kuitenkin saamaan pari helpohkoa maalia vieden ottelun ensin 3-1 ja hetken pelailun jälkeen vielä 4-1 johtoon. Aikalisä toi vielä hieman voitontahtoa lisää, mutta kavennus 4-2 oli laiha lohtu vastustajan rokottaessa kovalla kädellä, kun Raatin oli pakko tehostaa hyökkäystä puolustuksen kustannuksella. Erän lopun maalit olivat näin oikeastaan numeroiden kaunistelua, sillä voittoon olisi tarvittu neljä maalia kolmeen minuuttiin. LeBa voitti ottelun lopulta maalein 7-2.
Cup huuma on tältä erää SB Raatin osalta ohi, mutta pääosin turnauksesta ja koko Suomen Cupista jäi hyvä maku koko joukkueelle. Harmillisesti juuri tuohon LeBa peliin olisi kaivattua muutamia tuoreita jalkoja kentälle, jotta olisi pystytty vieläkin paremmin painamaan hyökkäykset maalille ja viemään SB Raatti jopa kolmannelle kierrokselle. Tämä on kuitenkin jossittelua. Paremmat voittivat ja niin kai se näissä piireissä pitääkin olla. Pääasia, että haastettiin II- ja III-divisioonan joukkueet kahden kentän turvin, eikä kenenkään joukkueesta tarvitse hävetä esityksiään. Kiitos kaikille vastustajalle kovista ja ennen kaikkea mukavista otteluista. Palataan Cup merkeissä taas vuoden päästä.
Nyt keskitytään kuitenkin täysillä alkavaan kauteen, joka starttaa sunnuntaina 3.10. Studentialla kahden ottelun voimin. Tervetuloa kannustamaan SB Raatti taas voittojen tielle.
